Cookie Notice

This Cookie Notice explains how Splurge Tech LLC uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on splurge.bio.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners. We also use similar technologies such as local storage.

2. Cookies We Use

2.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.

• Authentication cookies (Clerk): maintain your signed-in session as a creator
• Referral tracking cookie (splurge_ref): a first-party httpOnly cookie set when you visit via a Splurge Partner referral link. This cookie is stored for 30 days and is used to attribute your account registration to the referring partner. It is set only if a valid partner referral code is detected.

2.2 Analytics Cookies

Analytics are off until you accept them. We use PostHog to understand how creators and visitors use the platform, and nothing is collected until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only," or make no choice at all, PostHog captures nothing and sets no analytics cookies.

Once accepted, PostHog collects information such as pages viewed, links clicked, and device type, and uses cookies and local storage to remember your session between visits. This data is stored on PostHog servers in the United States.

To withdraw consent after accepting, clear the cookies and local storage for splurge.bio in your browser settings; the banner will appear again on your next visit.

2.3 Third-Party Cookies

The following third-party services may set their own cookies when you interact with Splurge Bio:

• Clerk: authentication and session management
• Stripe: embedded payment checkout and billing portal

These cookies are governed by the respective third-party privacy policies. We do not control these cookies.

3. Your Choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using key features of Splurge Bio, including signing in and completing tip checkouts. Most browsers allow you to:

• View and delete cookies stored on your device
• Block cookies from specific sites
• Set preferences for first-party and third-party cookies

We present the cookie consent banner to every visitor, not only where law requires it, and we do not load analytics before a choice is made.

4. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
